Polymers are very important in our day to day life. The full forms above mentioned commonly used polymers are as follows:
i. PVC – Poly vinyl chloride

It is made from the polymerization of vinyl chloride and it is widely used in plumbing materials, raincoats, etc.

ii. PET – Polyethylene Terephthalate

It is used in clothing, containers for liquids etc.

iii. HDPE – High-density Polyethylene

It is majorly used for making industrially based containers which are used for storing corrosive chemicals and solutions.

iv. LDPE – Low-density Polyethylene

It is used for making pharmaceutical bottles, buckets, carry bags etc.

v. PP – Polypropylene

It is widely used for making water pipes, battery cases, etc.

vi. PS – Polystyrene

It is used for making kitchen utensils, measuring cups etc.
