Briefly explain the terms Swadeshi and Boycott.

Swadesh and Boycott:

1. Swadesh literally means one’s own nation. However, it came to symbolize Indian culture and tradition during British rule. This concept came in relation to nationalism where they wanted to throw out everything foreign.

2. Boycott literally means withdrawal of relations. However, it referred to isolating any symbol of the British rule during those times like offices, clothes, institutions etc. It was a strong action used to protest the British government.
