Suggest any six ways to control the pollution of river Yamuna.

Measures to control the pollution of Yamuna can be:

i. Making people aware of the problem by education is the first step of solving or at least not increase pollution.

ii. Pollution can also be controlled by not discharging untreated sewage, solid wastes and garbage in rivers.

iii. People of India throw left out items related to religious activities into the water as they believe dumping into the dustbin as an unsacred activity. To overcome it, we should make people aware of dumping them in other ways and discourage them who throw those things into water.

iv. Strict laws should be made by the government to discourage the people who are throwing any type of waste into the river Yamuna and ensure its proper implementation.

v. Industries should be prevented to release any type of industrial waste into the water which is toxic for the environment.

vi. By reducing agricultural run-off, preventing or controlling resource recovery in river channels, shipping discharges and marine operations, we can reduce the intensity of water pollution.
