Write a short paragraph on the need to protect wildlife.

Wildlife is a part of our ecosystem. India is a country rich in its flora and fauna. But there is a significant decrease in wildlife. Most of the animals which were once the pride of our country are either extinct or endangered. The Government of India has enacted the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. As per the provisions of the Act, the Life Advisory Board for each state is vested with the powers of regulating and prohibiting the hunting of wildlife. However, there is still a need to urge the public to protect our wildlife.

Even though the killing of animals for commercial prospects has been declared as a crime, people still get themselves involved in it for fun or pleasure. But it has become necessary to save the wildlife in order the maintain ecological balance as this wildlife also contributes to the food chain. Therefore, human beings should take responsibility to protect this wildlife.
