Write a short note on Save the tiger campaign.

The tiger is the national animal of India. It is the pride of India. Sadly, these tigers are declared as the endangered species. This is because the Tigers are being killed for its skin and bones. People should have some sense of responsibility to preserve our wildlife treasure. This scenario has given rise to ‘Save the tiger’ campaigns.

Slogans like ‘Do not kill the Tigers,’ ‘Shoot the tiger with the camera and not with the gun,’ ‘Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, will not let you fade out of sight’ etc., are raised to create awareness among the public to preserve our royal tigers.

The Government of India has passed many acts to preserve the tigers. Project Tiger was one among the projects launched by the Government to protect the tigers. West Bengal, once the home for The Royal Bengal Tigers has now only around one thousand tigers.

The government has made the sale of tiger products illegal. But still, the consumers should also refrain from killing these endangered species and preserve them from extinction.
