Draw a triangle ABC in which AB=5cm, BC=6cm and angle ABC =60o. Construct a triangle whose sides are 5/7 times the corresponding sides of triangle ABC.

Steps of construction:


i. Draw a triangle ABC, with AB = 5 cm, BC= 6 cm ∠ABC = 60° choosing AB as base.



ii. Below AB, draw an acute angle ∠BAX.



iii. Mark four points A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6 and A7 on AX, such that AA1 = A1A2 =…= A6A7 [As ratio is 5:7, we choose 7 points]



iv. Join BA7 and Draw B’A5 || BA7



v. Draw B’C’ || BC
