Solve the following linear inequations in R

3x – 7 > x + 1

Given 3x – 7 > x + 1


⇒ 3x – 7 + 7 > x + 1 + 7


⇒ 3x > x + 8


⇒ 3x – x > x + 8 – x


⇒ 2x > 8



∴ x > 4


Thus, the solution of the given inequation is (4, ∞).
