Explain the sources of revenue of Village Panchayats during the Mughal rule in India.

the Village Panchayats was the assembly of elders. It was an oligarchy that drew its revenue from the contribution made by individuals to the common financial pool. Heavy taxes were imposed and money was extracted from the poor peasants. The patwari of the panchayat acted as the accountant.
