Assess the main contribution of the Non-Aligned Movement to the newly independent countries

During the Cold War, the Non-Aligned Movement was formulated for preventing the nations from joining the blocs, i.e. USSR and US. These NAM nations did not show support to either of the blocs and focused more upon its own development.

1. The NAM members were categorized as Least Developed nations.


2. A New International economic order formed with the realization of developing these LDCs.


3. The United Nation Conference on Trade and development brought a new trade policy for the development of these least developed nations.
