Imagine yourself as a member of a rural Self Help Group. Develop a plan according to which your organization will be helping the poor financially.

I am a proud member of our local self-help group. One fine day I, with my colleagues, went to a slum area at the outskirts of the city where we found a lady crying outside her house. On asking she told me that her husband had beaten her after getting drunk. She told me that there were many ladies like her in that area who used to face the same problem. We went to other women's houses and discussed with them regarding the issue. With the help of the area's collector, we organized a drug and alcohol rehab program in the area. We explained people the demerits of alcohol and drugs. We could convince them to join a rehabilitation center. We were on a constant check on them. We found that most of the ladies were from Bihar and they could knit in the Madhubani print so well. We decided to engage them in this work as professionals so they could become self-sufficient. We promoted their artwork on social networking sites and explained them about e-commerce websites. We also conducted school classes for illiterate people. So that, they get to know the importance of education and encourage their children for the same. Within the time of six months, the problem of alcohol in the area was completely solved. And, people were satisfied with the way of their living.
