Classify industries based on raw materials.

On the basis of raw materials, industries are classified into agro-based and mineral-based industries.

Agro-based industries: They are dependent on agriculture to obtain raw materials which are used to produce different products. Some of the examples include cotton textiles, jute textiles, sugar industry, etc.

Mineral-based industry: They are dependent on mineral resources to obtain raw materials. Examples include iron and steel industry, cement industry, aluminium industry, etc.
