Classify trading centres into two categories. How are they different from

each other? Explain.

There are two types of trading centres:

a) Rural marketing centres

b) Urban marketing centres.

The difference between the two is mentioned below:

a) Rural marketing centres are quasi-urban centres. They cater to the needs of the nearby settlements.. They have a basic type of trading.The personal and professional services are not well developed.Most of them are wholesale areas called the mandis and a few retail services.

b) Urban marketing centres provide ordinary goods and services. They manufacture goods or finsihed products. They are highly specialized in providing their services. Such as teachers, lawyers, consultants, physicians etc.
