What are the distinct modes of protest?

Social movements gave rise to distinct modes of protest which are as follows:

• Use of candle and torchlight during the demonstration.

• Use of black cloth, street theatres, songs and poetry.

• Mahatma Gandhi made ahimsa, Satyagraha and charkha as the mode of protest during National movements such as picketing and the defying of the colonial ban on producing salt.
