Name any one national waterway of India.


Waterways is an important means of transport of both passengers and cargo in India. It is the cheapest means of transport. The Inland Waterways Authority was set up in 1986 with the objective of developing, maintaining and regulating the national waterways in the country. Under many waterways were declared as the National Waterways by the Government. Some of the important waterways are:


• Allahabad-Haldia stretch


• Sadiya-Dhubri stretch


• Kottapuram-Kollam stretch
