The Ganga River Basin is one of the largest living river systems in the world, the main stem of the river flows through 5 states of India however the entire catchment provides water to 11 states.

The river Brahmaputra travels 2880 km from its origin in the young Himalayan range through the Tibet and India and finally merges with the sea in Bangladesh

Some of the features of Ganga-Brahmaputra delta are as follows:
