The economy of the quaternary sector is called knowledge economy.

In quaternary sector there has been a high demand in consumption of knowledge sources. It includes knowledge oriented economic sectors like information technology, R&D, media, consultation, education etc .It focuses on knowledge and skills. So the economy of quaternary sector is known as the knowledge economy.
