• In cities the population density is much higher. So there lies a problem of monetary shortage and unemployment. The cost of living in cities is high. So, people can afford the cost of living. Therefore the sudden shift to urban give rises to slums.

• The lack of proper planning and low housing creates a way for the slums. Insufficient funding and lack of coordination in government give rise to poor planning.

• Urbanisation paves the way for the formation of slums.
