Answer the following questions briefly

What was the condition of labourers’ houses during Industrial Revolution?

Industrial Revolution did little to alleviate the labourers and working hands, and they would often be forced to live in shanties and poor housing.

1. Since many rural folks migrated to cities for work, there was little preparedness regarding where they would live. Hence, crowded and unhygienic slums came up on the outskirts of the city

2. There was no proper sanitation or sewage disposal system for such shanties. Hence, water would pile up and run amuck on the streets and in the residential areas.

3. Crowded quarters were a source of communicable diseases and poor ventilation often led to a lack of development amongst the younger kids.

4. Little attention was paid to improving the lives of the hands behind the revolution. This would often lead to social unrest, but it was brutally suppressed.
