Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi is one of the brave freedom fighters. She was an unusual lady in every sense. She was born in Varanasi.she was married to Gangadhar Rao, the ruler of Jhansi. After the death of Raja in 1853, she controlled the kingdom indirectly on his son name. She had an adopted son and without consent of the British adopted son’s claim to the throne and disregarded Dalhousie.

Dalhousie wanted the Jhansi on the ground of doctrine of lapse when Jhansi fell rani joined the rebel leader tantra tope to overthrow Britishers from India. She continues to fight to save Jhansi but shot dead at the age of 23.
