Q12 of 26 Page 5

How did the British succeed in securing the submission of the rebel landowners of Awadh?

Britishers wanted back the loyalty of people, so for that, they announced rewards for the loyal landlords.

Loyal landlords were allowed to enjoy their traditional rights on their land.

Britishers had given a chance to the rebels and told them that they had to submit to the British, then they would remain safe and their claims and rights would not be denied.

But Britishers had put a condition that they would not kill any white people.
