Write a note on Arya Samaj.

a. Arya Samaj was founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in the year 1875.

b. The main objective of Swami Dayanand Saraswati was to fight against social evils such as child marriage and the caste system.

c. He was also against the practice of idol worship.

d. He promoted the concept of equality among men and women in all the fields of life.

e. His followers had also set up many Anglo-Vedic schools based on his ideologies.

f. The schools taught a curriculum which was a mix of the traditional Indian teachings and the Western scientific knowledge.
