Outline the ideologies of Jyotirao Phule

The ideologies of Jyotirao Phule is explained below:

a. Jyotirao Phule was born in the year 1827. He was one of the low caste leaders.


b. According to him, the upper caste of the society had no right on the land as it belonged to the local people who were termed as the low caste.


c. He proposed that the Shudras and Ati Shudras should come together to fight the problem of caste discrimination.


d. He founded the Satyashodhak Samaj to promote caste equality.


e. He also wrote a book called Ghulamgiri which means slavery. In his book, he established a close connection between the conditions of the lower caste in India with that of the black slaves in America.


f. He developed his own ideas about the injustice occurring in society.


g. He refused to accept the claim of the Brahmins that they were superior to others as they were Aryans.


h. He said that Aryans were the foreigners who came from outside of India and defeated the native Indians. They began their supremacy by looking at the Indians as low caste.
