WHAT I WANT TO BE IN MY LIFE

- By Smita

“Be the change you want to see in this world”

I personally believe in this famous saying. Basically every teenager has his/her sets of dreams and hopes about the future. Likewise, I too have a dream. My dream is to become an IAS Officer and serve my motherland. This is not simply a dream; it is my ambition.

Even more than a doctor or an Engineer; a civil service officer can do a lot to society. He has directly involved the public administration and in that way the nation building. A district collector is the head of the public administration in a district. Likewise, there are secretaries who are the heads of various departments. The job of a civil service officer is considered as a very powerful and well respected and recognized in our society. But a good IAS Officer should not be influenced by corruption or politics. His prime concern should be the welfare of the common citizens. There are many brave civil service officers around us who serve as a role model for me

Becoming an IAS Officer is not an easy job. Once must do hard work with sincerity and perseverance for attaining the same. UPSC conducts The Civil services examinations every year. It is regarded as one of the toughest exams to clear it. I began my UPSC preparations when I was in 10th standard. After 12th, I am planning to graduate in Political Science which will aid my UPSC preparations.

Destiny is not a cosmic force. It is simply the result of human choices. My destiny will depend on what I aim to become; What I dream of. As the Alchemist says:

“When you really want something the whole universe conspires in helping you achieve the same”. What a person depends upon what he aims in his life. Thank you

there and all that you have learnt.

VISIT TO TAJ MAHAL

The History Society of our School has organized a visit to Taj Mahal on 24 September 2017. We, a group of 40 students accompanied by a history teacher departed from school by bus at 9:00 in the morning from Delhi. Taj Mahal is situated at Agra, UP district is situated in the banks of river Yamuna. It is a place of great historic importance. Made by the Mughal emperor Shan Jehan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal ; Taj Mahal is listed as one among the seven wonders of the world. We reached Agra by 12 noon. After having lunch we went to see the monument. It stood in the banks of Yamuna in great majesty. Looking at the Taj at a distance was really a splendour to the eyes. It is completely made by white marbles. Our History teacher told us that it was constructed in the 15th century and took about 20 years for completion. Ustad Easa was the chief architect of the construction. We went down the staircase to the grave of the king and Queen under the dome in dark chambers. Taj Mahal is situated back to Agra Fort. We took a group photo by standing near the famous ‘Diana bench’ in front of Taj Mahal. When Princess Diana visited Taj Mahal, she took a photo by sitting on a bench . That bench henceforth began to be known as the ‘Diana bench’. We returned to Delhi after having tea by 4:00 P.M. Taj Mahal has been rightly known as the ‘Dream in Marble’. We felt privileged to see this proud monument of every indian. It was really a memorable trip.
