Protection from mosquitoes

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today I am going to recite a speech on protection from mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are a source of spreading many diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya etc. which might prove to be fatal sometimes.

After the rainy season is over, mosquitoes start breeding. This increases the rate at which they multiply which means there are more mosquitoes in our surrounding specially the unclean ones. Mosquitoes roam about freely in the environment and can bite any individual at any time because they have to do so to breed. Usually mosquitoes that spread diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya tend to bite during the morning hours or at night and usually in parts of the body below the knee. Mosquitoes also have different species and each type causes a different disease. Few methods of protecting against mosquito bites and preventing diseases include the use of mosquito repellent creams which are easily available these days. This should be applied in any uncovered body parts. One must wear clothes that cover almost the entire body if they live in areas with too many mosquitoes. Also, use of mosquito nets is a good way of preventing mosquito bites.

As said, prevention is better than cure which means we all must be precautious enough to prevent the causes of diseases rather than fighting them after being affected. There are many vaccines and medicines available that protect against disease causing mosquito bites. Therefore we must all protect ourselves and our families from mosquitoes and diseases caused by them.

Career Counselor is the best guide (For the motion)

A career counselor is a person whose job is to advice people with relevant information on how they could progress their careers or get into a better working position. So as the definition suggests itself a career counselor can be the best person to guide you in the choice of career. Therefore, today I speak in favor of the motion.

As a professional in the field of career related matters a career counselor can be the one who shows the right path to an individual after weighing all the pros and cons associated with the career of his/her choice. Career counselors usually conduct an aptitude test before a one-to-one interview where they discuss the results of the test. On the basis of the test results, they draw conclusions and advice a candidate to choose a particular option over the other. They are very useful sources of accurate information and helpful for students or people who are confused with their career choices. Sometimes people lack adequate knowledge regarding their preferences and tend to follow them just because someone in their circle has done it. They do not realize that the probability of their success is not dependent on the other person and he himself must be responsible for his choice. If asked an individual must be able to give valid reasons for the choice of their career. Sometimes career counselors help in finding answers to such questions.

It is sometimes necessary for a person to trust another one who has more knowledge in that field over their own decisions. After all the career counselors would give equally beneficial options to the people seeking guidance because it is about their own reputation and career as well.

Career Counselor is the best guide (Against the motion)

A career counselor is a person whose job is to advice people with relevant information on how they could progress their careers or get into a better working position. As the definition suggests, it is a job of these people to give advice which need not necessarily be good or favorable for the person seeking advice. Therefore, I speak against the motion that a career counselor is not the best person to guide you in the choice of career.

It is a job of an individual and might become monotonous for the person doing it. He/she might just do it with a motive to get their fees with hardly any knowledge about what the candidate wishes to do. Moreover, career counselors view every individual seeking their guidance as their clients and would deal with them formally. Also, they know very little about the person to be able to analyze their preferences and one aptitude test cannot be used as a parameter to judge a person’s future. If a person follows the path suggested by a counselor and fails in the future it would be his/ her own loss and the counselor would not be held responsible for his/her guidance. They have an easy option of saying that they just gave guidance and a piece of advice and it was totally upon the person to decide what he/she wants to do.

So an individual must assume his/her own responsibility and decide what will be best for him or her. When guidance comes in many friends and family members and even the internet these days can prove to be a useful source of information.
