One unnoted, sweet and young. His eyes live in a dream, Of squirrels game, in tree room, other than this.

(a) It is an unlit, dull and unpleasant classroom in a slum. It is unlit because of the lack of electricity. The unlit class room is symbolic of the pathetic condition of the slum


(b) The sweet young child sitting at the back of the class is lost in his dreams. Unlike others in the class, there is no visible impact of poverty in this child. Hope seem to be alive in his eyes. He want to escape the grim reality of life and be a part of the outside world.


(c) He dreams of the squirrels playing games in the hollow of the tree. His dreams are of other places other than his monotonous classroom. The squirrels game help him to escape the grim reality of life


(d) It is the bark of the tree where the squirrels of the boy’s dream dwell.

(b) Aunt Jennifer lives a life of fear. She fears the doing something of her will may bring forth her husband’s wrath. She has lost all her self confidence


(c) The wedding band is a symbol of the institution of marriage. Here it represents the cruel bond of an unhappy marriage.


(d) The wedding band is a symbol of conjugal happiness. But here, it is a burden for Aunt Jennifer. The marriage instead of providing bliss chained all her freedom and happiness
