Medicines are more effective when these are provided in the colloidal state because colloids have the large surface area, these get easily absorbed by our body tissues. Antibiotics such as penicillin, streptomycin etc are usually injected in our body in colloidal form.

Emulsion- The colloidal state in which both the dispersed phase and dispersion medium are in the liquid state. But in the emulsion, both the liquids aren’t miscible with each other. Eg. Milk is an emulsion of water and fat.

Gel- Gel is a colloid of liquid in solid that forms a semisolid material. Here liquid is in the dispersed phase and solid is dispersion medium. Example: Edible gelly etc.
