How is an alien species invasion considered as one of the causes of biodiversity loss? Support your answer with the help of an example.

When an alien species invades a natural space, they tend to become invasive and cause declination of the local species population. Sometimes they even cause extinction of indigenous species. Some examples include: Water hyacinth that was introduced because of its beautiful leaves but then ended up becoming too difficult to control as they spread about. Another example is the African catfish and the Nile perch.
