Solar energy is one of the best renewable energy sources. It can solve the crisis of shortage of electricity in India.

• The Sun is a universal, abundant and inexhaustible source of energy. So we can convert solar (light) energy into chemical energy by Solar cells and when there is a power cut it can be used as a source of electricity thereby decreasing blackouts during power cuts.

• Solar energy has been termed as the next generation of energy. It will be widely used when the non-renewable sources of energy like coal, natural gas have been exhausted.
