Briefly mention the elements of the Belgian model of government.

The Belgian model of government follows the principles of power-sharing and accommodation. The country realized the presence of social and linguistic differences between its citizens, and also the unique condition of the proportion of the various communities in the country and the capital city. The following were thus declared as the elements of the Belgian model of government.

1. The number of Dutch and French-speaking ministers in the government is prescribed to be equal as per their constitution.

2. The state governments are not subordinate to the central government.

3. The French and the Dutch have accepted equal representation in central and state governments for peace and stability.

4. Apart from the central and the state governments, there is a third kind of government called the community government. The members are elected directly by people belonging to a particular community. The community government is concerned with functions related to culture, language and education.
