Griffith Taylor regarded as one of the founders of modern geography introduced the concept of ‘Neodeterminism’ or ‘Stop and Go Determinism’. As per the concept, possibilities are not limitless in any environment. A price has to be paid for every choice. Thus, judgement regarding a choice can only be passed by the person who is making the choice as they are aware regarding the wisdom or folly of their choices with respect to the goals they have set. This concept is a middle path between environmental determinism (a situation of absolute necessity) and possibilism (condition of absolute freedom).
