Tata steel plant is an integrated steel plant and the following are three of its characteristics –


• It lies at a distance of 250 km away from Kolkata.


• It is supplied by water from the Subarnarekha and Kharki rivers while iron-ore comes from the Noamundi-Badampahar mines.


• Jodamines in Orissa supply it with coal.
