List the various characteristic features of wind pollinated flowers. Give one example of such a flower.

Characteristic features of a wind pollinated flowers are-

i. Pollen grains are light and non-sticky for its easy transport in wind.


ii. Exposed stamens for easy dispersal of pollen.


iii. Female flowers have large, feathery pollen to easily trap the pollen that is carried in the wind.


iv. Single ovule present in the ovary of a female flower.


v. The flowers are colorless, odorless and nectar less.


Example: Coconut.
