François Bernier travelled India for 12 years and wrote about everything that made him excited and impressed. He wrote about the contrast between the India (then under Mughal empire) and the Europe. His writings were published in French, English, German and Dutch. Therefore, François Bernier’s description influenced Western theorists from the eighteenth century onwards.
