What is meant by ‘Global Commons’ ? Give any two examples of Global Commons. Why is it very essential to save them?

Global commons are those areas of the world that are located outside the jurisdiction of any one state and therefore require common governance at the international level.

The two examples of global commons are the Earth's atmosphere, Antarctica and outer space.

It is important to save them for the following reasons:

a. To maintain the ecological balance.

b. To preserve them for scientific research to be carried on for the present and future generations.
