In fig1, both diodes D1 and D2 have forward biasing. Net diode resistance=0.
Net resistance =(10×10)/(10+10) =5Ω
∴ Current = 5V/Net resistance =5V/5Ω =1A

In fig2, diode D1 has forward biasing and diode D2 has reverse biasing. Hence, current will flow only through diode D1.
Net resistance =10+0 =10Ω
∴ Current =5V/10Ω
