In the figure, if ∆ACB = ∆CDA, AC = 6 cm and AD = 3 cm, then find the length of AB.


12 cm


For ∆ACB & ∆ADC,


∠ CAB = ∠ DAC ………common angle


∠ ACB = ∠ CDA ………given


∴ ∆ACB ~ ∆ADC ………by AA test of similarity


………corresponding sides of similar triangles




∴ AB = 12 cm


Hence, length of AB is 12 cm.
