‘Telecommunications’ refer to the exchange of information through electronic means, over a significant distance. Development of modern technology has led to rapid improvement in telecommunications. Using the modes of telecommunication, important messages can be sent in seconds nowadays. Most advanced modes of telecommunication like e-mails and mobile phones help the people to send information directly, instantaneously and from any place of the world. Radio and television help to circulate information to a large audience base and hence these are known as ‘mass media’. Thus modes of telecommunication play a vital role in the lives of modern-day people.
