Communication services include the transmission of messages and words, ideas as well as facts. It means a conveyance of information from the location of origin to the location of destination via a channel. Based on quality as well as scale, communication services can be categorized into the following kinds:

(A) Personal Communication:

Personal means of communication involves the conveyance of information between two persons only. For example, telephone, postal services, fax and telegraph services, internet, etc. its main attributes are:

(i) It transfers information between two persons only.

(ii) It is a very efficient and rapid means of communication.

(B) Mass Communication:

Television as well as radio assist in relaying pictures, information and news to vast audiences located around the world and thus, are termed as mass media. Its main attributes are:

(i) It transfers information to larger audiences.

(ii) It is vital for entertainment and advertising.
