(i) Fructose is a monosaccharide because it cannot be further split into simpler units. Maltose is a disaccharide. Starch and cellulose are polysaccharides.


(ii)Amino acids contain an amine group and carboxylic group. When the number of amine groups are higher the amino acid is called as basic amino acid. When the number of carboxylic acid group present in the amino acid is higher then the amino acid is called as acidic amino acid.


(iii) Vitamin C deficiency causes bleeding in gums.
