How is copper extracted from a low grade ore of it?

Through a process called hydrometallurgy, copper from its low grade ore is leached (drained) out using acid or bacteria and then Cu²⁺ ions in the solution are reduced to copper by treating with hydrogen or iron. As hydrogen is used for reduction, the process is named hydrometallurgy.
