Write the structure of the product obtained when glucose is oxidised with nitric acid.

Saccharic acid, also known as glucaric acid is obtained when glucose is oxidised with nitric acid.


The –CHO and the primary alcoholic groups of glucose get converted to –COOH group.



Note- The secondary alcoholic groups of glucose remain intact and does not oxidised.
