Why should biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes be discarded in two separate dustbins?

Biodegradable wastes are those which can be degraded or break down with the help of biological processes. It can be decomposed into simpler harmless substances and can be used as manures but non- biodegradable wastes can’t be break down with the help of biological processes into organic substances. That’s why biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes be discarded in two separate dustbins.
