Mention the types of mirrors used as (i) rear view mirrors, (ii) shaving mirrors. List two reasons to justify your answers in each case.

(i) The mirror which is preferred as rear view mirror in vehicles is the convex mirror because the image obtained with the help of convex mirror is highly diminished in size and thus gives a wider field of view and helps the driver of the vehicle to view the traffic in much larger area behind the vehicle.


(iii) The mirror which is used as shaving mirror is concave mirror because the image formed by the concave mirror is large in size and to see the enlarged image of the face, concave mirror is used for the shaving.
