Following two examples show how knowledge of processes of reproduction help people in limiting the size of their families-

(i) People generally shy away from the surgical methods of contraception or are sometimes very apprehensive about it. With the knowledge of the physiology of reproduction, they can understand the process of the surgical methods viz vasectomy and tubectomy in a much better way. This will help them to adopt these methods without any apprehension.

(ii) Generally, people have a lot of fear in using the birth control pills. With the knowledge of the ovulation process in females, people will understand how these birth control pills work and should be able to use them without any fear.
