Explain how the relationship between political parties and pressure groups can take different forms?

Forms of the relationship between pressure groups and political parties:

1. Sometimes the pressure groups are led or formed by leaders of political parties and act as the party’s extension. For example, certain trade unions in India are affiliated to political parties.

2. Sometimes political parties get formed out of the movements. For example, Asom Gana Parishad was formed after the Assam movement of students against the ‘foreigners’.

3. Many times the relationship is indirect. They are in negotiation even while having opposing views. The leaders of parties any times come from these groups.
