Differentiate between sectional interest groups and public interest groups with examples.

Difference between sectional and public interest groups:

1. Sectional interest groups are concerned about a particular section of the society while public interest groups think of the good of the society in general.


2. The members of a public interest group may not benefit from the cause but that is not true for sectional interest groups.


3. Examples of sectional interest groups: trade unions, business association etc


Examples of public interest groups: FEDECOR, human rights organization.


Explanation: Sectional interest groups fight specifically for a group within the society while the interest of public interest groups is wide-ranged.
