List the products of combustion of fossil fuels. What are their adverse effects on the environment?

Combustion of fuels results in the products such as Carbon dioxide CO2, water H2O, Sulphur dioxide SO2, Nitrogen oxides NO2 etc. The products formed are very harmful and poisonous.


The adverse effects of the products of combustion of fuels are as follows:


1. The Sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide after dissolving in the rain water results in acid rain which damages the trees and buildings.


2. Increase in the concentration of CO gas results in greenhouse effects which results in major effects on environment such as Global warming.
