Write the harmful effects of using plastic bags on the environment. Suggest alternatives to plastic bags.

polythene is a non-biodegradable substance and can’t be broken into the simpler substance by the microorganisms. It remains as such in the environment. It is poisonous and is harmful for the animals when eaten by them, as they blocks the alimentary canal of the animals. Polythene is equally harmful to environment also. These are the major reason for blocking of sewage.


The two alternatives to the polythene bags are as follows:


1. Adopting usage of jute bags instead of polythene bags.


2. Use of disposable paper cups instead of plastic cups.


3. Use of paper bags in shops.
