∴ Sum of the zeroes = =

= 8/2 = 4

Product of the zeroes =

= 14/4 = 7/2

∴ The required polynomial is x 2 - (sum of the zeroes) x + Product of the zeroes
⇒ x 2 - (4) x + (7/2) or equivalently, 2x 2 - 8 x + 7 is the required polynomial.
