Form the polynomial whose zeroes are , .

The zeroes are ,

∴ Sum of the zeroes = + = 4

Product of the zeroes = ×
= (2) 2 –
= 4 – ½
= 7/2
∴ The required polynomial is:
x 2 - (sum of the zeroes) x + Product of the zeroes ⇒ x 2 - (4)x + (7/2)

∴ x 2 - 4x + (7/2) or equivalently, 2x 2 - 8x + 7 is the required polynomial.
